Ignited States of America
In the summer of 2020, Black Lives Matter marches were echoing throughout America in the name of George Floyd: large gatherings pounding the streets; their bodies and voices out, in spite of the new rules of personal safety imposed by the pandemic, for a shared cause.
In this ongoing series, “Ignited States of America”, I acknowledge the power of people coming together and becoming a changing force against social distress. This titular piece evokes the rumble of the fights for a fairer world in order to immortalize a vision of resilience as human beings and celebrate the notion of plurality.
