ARTIST STATEMENT

This ongoing series of mixed media works on wood was inspired by a photograph of a mountain pass I have yet to discover the location of, taken by my father while he was hitchhiking across Europe in the late 60’s. This find sparked in me the desire to embark in the exploration of the unknown and the unfamiliar, conjuring up feelings of “portals” and pockets of wonder; a journey through a visceral stillness, meditative yet wild and otherworldly.
